Ethics 101

As described by Britannica,

ethics – the discipline concerned with what is morally good and bad and morally right and wrong. The term is also applied to any system or theory of moral values or principles.”

Although the topic is taught in most colleges and most employers would choose to hire an applicant who exhibits ethical behavior, how many people do you know who live by a true moral code? We routinely hear about racketeering, Ponzi schemes, conspiracies, etc. We’ve almost become desensitized to it.

It’s become a joke over the years that no one can trust politicians – the ones who are elected to represent the people’s interests, no matter their party affiliation. Enter Kari Lake…

Kari Lake is running for U.S. Senate in Arizona.

Bribery

A recording in which the Arizona GOP Chairman, Jeff DeWit, can be heard bribing Kari Lake to step away from politics for two years was recently made public. The 10-minute audio recording can be heard here.

The result? Kari Lake did not bow to the wishes of those who want to silence her. And Jeff DeWit was forced to resign.

If people were willing to bribe Kari Lake as a means to an end, what else would they be willing to do? I think we can guess.

Bottom line…

We need more public figures like Kari Lake, who refused to be lured by greed or manipulation. Do we have representatives in Pennsylvania with her fortitude and ethics? Are the leaders of our parties as willing as DeWit to do whatever it takes to get the results they want?

Whether considering schools, companies, neighborhoods, or even an elected representative, we must never lower our standards or compromise our morals. Our children are counting on us!
