School Curricula – Derived from the United Nations?
We’ve questioned the source of the problems with the state of education in Pennsylvania. Costs are high and proficiencies are low. Most believe that school boards determine the district’s curriculum, that the state’s Board of Education is involved, and that parents have a voice. However, for more than two decades efforts have been underway to change all of that and to standardize learning on a global scale. Who is involved and how is that impacting us and our children?
The United Nations
The United Nations, formed 80 years ago to promote international peace and security, explained its new, expanded mission in September 2024 in its Pact for the Future. This pact is based on United Nations goals as set forth in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The agenda aims to solve all the world’s problems through the collaboration of nations working under the direction of the United Nations. The 2030 Agenda has 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), with Goal #4 being, “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” Education seems to be at the core of accomplishing many of the other goals, which are listed below..
Sustainable Development Goals
as listed on page 18 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) work together to accomplish the goals of the 2030 Agenda. UNESCO is the lead agency in the implementation and monitoring of SDG-4 (Education), creating international standards and legal texts for operational manuals, qualification standards, etc. UNICEF drives advocacy and field implementation of operations throughout the countries, including gathering data from surveys of families and schools.
Direction of American Education
On Friday, October 24, 2025, Alex Newman, Senior Editor of The New American magazine was a guest on The Conservative Voice radio show on WWDB 860 AM. His discussion about the American education system is so important for parents and grandparents to hear that we are including a link to the segment.

What Do the Test Scores Say?
In attempting to standardize education, starting with the Common Core Curriculum, have the United Nations, the United States government, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania helped or hurt our children? Standardized test results of Pennsylvania students over twenty years would seem to indicate the latter.
Bottom line…
The United States is a strong and sovereign nation founded by a Revolution against tyranny almost 250 years ago. We are also a member of a global organization, the United Nations, which was formed as an alliance to foster peace. When juxtaposed, the two positions almost seem contradictory but must be balanced. The United Nations seems to believe it is the ruler of the world, as it tries to expand its role to take control of global education and more. This unelected ruler does not answer to the citizens of member nations, reminding us of the tyranny we fought in 1776.
The 2030 Agenda is being promulgated throughout the world with the education of our youth on social issues being a critical part to the success of the agenda. As a sovereign nation, we should determine if this agenda is of benefit to this country. Clearly our children are not better educated than twenty years ago, let alone 250 years ago. Are they dumbing down our children so the next generation isn’t quite as strong and sovereign and doesn’t question authority, motives, or inconvenient truths? Is this purposeful? Parents must not abdicate the education of our children to the “expert educators.” We are the primary teachers of the next generations and must choose our methods wisely, lest that choice be taken from us in the very near future.
As the Constitutional Convention ended in 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked if the delegates produced a monarchy or a republic. Franklin replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
We are trying to keep this republic that we love and hold our representatives accountable to the people. Join us in that mission and share this Update with your contacts!
