In the News…
Many in southeastern PA are feeling the rising crime creeping into the suburbs of Philadelphia. We see the stories on the local news about new assaults, shootings, robberies, etc. everyday.
We want to believe that it only happens in Philly or that the police should be doing more. However, when the District Attorney decides that certain crimes should go unpunished or the Lt. Governor votes to release convicted murderers, then everyone gets the message:
Former Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan cited a study that attributes the increased murder rates in Philadelphia to fewer criminal sentencings. But, why should criminals stay in Philadelphia when the pickings are so ripe in Delaware and Chester Counties? Well, they aren’t!
We must hold our elected officials accountable including our sheriffs, district attorneys, judges, and attorney general. They each take an oath to uphold the laws and constitution of our state. If they aren’t doing their jobs, then they should be fired and replaced by the voters.
As G. K. Chesterton wrote, “It isn’t that they can’t see the solution. It is that they can’t see the problem.”
We are trying to make sure that they see and understand the problems. Join us in that mission!
