Border Crisis Impacting SEPA

SANCTUARY COUNTY

In January 2020, Chester County Commissioners insisted that the county is not a “sanctuary county” for undocumented immigrants, but affirmed a willingness to accept refugees.

Since then, crime in the county has exploded!

Albert Torrealba Jordan and Keiver Guilarte Camps from Venezuela crossed the border illegally and recently stole over $2,000 worth of merchandise from Ulta, in Exton. West Whiteland police have seen a string of crimes, including burglary, from South American theft rings.

Drug Trafficking

Fentanyl and heroin flow over the Mexican/American border every day, smuggled in by drug cartels and using illegal migrants to do it. Those drugs are on our streets and killing children and adults alike.

Human Trafficking

Human trafficking continues throughout our region:  Delaware CountyChester CountyBerks County, and the list goes on and on.

PA Legislators

More than 40 PA House Legislators recently sent a letter to Governor Shapiro asking for him to help Texas Governor Abbott in the fight to protect the southern border of this country. The letter and first seven signers are shown below.

The PA Senate also adopted a Republican written resolution backing Governor Abbott’s efforts to secure the border. They understand that Pennsylvania is being directly impacted by the border crisis.

Bottom line…

The bubble in which many in Southeastern Pennsylvania live has burst. This area is now being impacted by the lawlessness at our border. It is only a matter of time before someone we know is robbed, carjacked, or dies of a drug overdose. Our elected officials are responsible for putting the policies in place that allowed millions of migrants, not refugees, to enter our borders illegally. We must hold our US Congress Representatives and Senators accountable for this mess!
